7th grade Girls’ Volleyball Team Dominates in League Game
The St. Mary’s 7th grade girls’ volleyball team is off to a great start this season. They came into last weekend with four wins and then quickly added two more against St. Vincent and St. Rose on Saturday, showcasing skill, teamwork and Eagle pride. The matches took place at St. Rose Catholic School in Santa Rosa, with the St. Mary’s Eagles winning the first game in two sets and the second game against St. Rose in a thrilling three set game.
The Eagles set the tone early in the first game against St. Vincent, with strong serves by Ava Sublet and countless powerful kill shots from Giada Giacomini. The Eagles had an impressive defensive dig by Kenadie White and a well-placed sets from Elle Keffeler.
The final game against St. Rose was all about teamwork, with contributions from every player. Coach Kenzie White was proud of the girls’ performance. Giada Giacomini was the MVP of this game with 11 kills and four aces. “This win was a total team effort. The support these players show each other is unbelievable. The girls work hard during practice, and it showed on the court today,” said Coach White. The Eagles held a winning match with a 15-8. The game-winning kill shot came from Kaylani McAsey.
The 7th grade girls have their eyes set on the championship this year, aiming to build on last season’s success. They are undefeated thus far.
